Connecting Okiano to your Magento 1 store
Okiano integration with Magento allows for your store data to be continuously updated on Okiano servers. This in turn, ensures your Ads and search terms are always relevant and accurately represent your store.
Connecting your store is easy. all you need to do is install the Okiano Marketing Automation extension.
To begin, login to your Magento 1 admin dashboard and create a "user" with read-only access rights to certain entities of your catalog, create an “API KEY” and provide Okiano with these details.
This document contains detailed instructions for granting the "User" with the read-only permissions and creating the "API KEY" that you need to provide to Okiano.

Knowing the intent of users searching the Internet provides the opportunity to serve the exact information they need and influence their decision. For example, if someone types the search phrase “price of black dress shoes”, we have a good sense of what their content expectations are as well as their intention. Okiano uses Machine and Deep learning to figure intent of users and create keywords and Ads creative to meet this users intent. Installing Okiano Marketing Automation extension
Creating a user with Read Only permissions
Login to your Magento - 1 admin dashboard and to install the Okiano Marketing extension click System -> Web Services -> SOAP/XML-RPC - Users
Follow the example on the image below, you should reach the system-> users screen that contains a table of all the users.
Next, click the add user button at the top right corner of the page
You are in the user creation form. Fill in the details, choose a username (something like myokiano) can work and an API key (this is a password, Choose a secure password with numbers and characters). Okiano will use this User Name and password (API Key) to access your store in read-only mode.
Click SAVE USER at the top right corner of the page.
Now go to: System -> Web Services -> SOAP/XML-RPC - Roles, this will take you “Roles” page.
Adding New Role
You should now be at the Roles page.
Click the “Add new Role” button at the top right corner of the page.
Choose and Click on the “Role Resources” button at the left side menu of the page.
Granting read only permissions
Arrive at the “Role Permissions” page and grant Okiano with read permissions to the catalog resource by expanding “Catalog”, “Category” and “Product” then checking all "list" and "info" items.
Once done, your “Role Resource” should look like that:
To finalize, save the new Role by clicking “Save Role” at the top right corner of the page and go back to the users page: System -> Web Services -> SOAP/XML-RPC - Users
Username and API KEY
Back at the user management screen select the Okiano User,
Select “User Roles” (left side of the page) to arrive at the user editing page to select the user role.
Select the Role for Okiano and “Save User” (top right of the page).
Your store is ready for integration.
Please login to your Okiano account on www.okianomarketing.com and fill in the “Username” and “Api key” you have just created for Okiano in your user profile on www.okianomarketing.com.
Viewing the Integration
Upon successful completion of the integration, you should be able to see “Okiano Marketing” row added with an “Active” indication in the Status column to your site integrations table. Your account details will now be reviewed by an Okiano admin and your store's catalog will automatically be read by the secured Okiano servers. You can track progress by going to https://www.okianomarketing.com and signing in with the login credentials you created earlier.
Once Okiano system completes reading your website, it will create effective, great-looking Search Ads (Google AdWord). These Ads can be used for your search campaigns and A/B testing to yield the best possible results for your search campaigns.
Should you choose “Okiano Advanced Sales” or “Okiano Premium Campaigns”, Okiano will populate these Ads into Google AdWords, creating the Ads, Ad Groups and Campaigns and will include relevant keywords and targeting information as adjusted by our proprietary AI algorithms that are used to monitor your campaign performance. With Okiano, your advertisement will be cost effective reaching precisely these audience most likely to purchase at your store. Kindly note that the AI needs time and budget to learn what works and what not for your store in order to obtain the best results.
